12-year-old carnal knowledge victim to testify today

Accused admitted victim was a helper not a sex partner
THE 12-year-old girl of Herstelling, East Bank Demerara, is expected to support an anonymous report today that she had sexual intercourse with 46-year-old Mohan Lall, in 2008.
Mohan Lall, called ‘Lloydie’, who denied the allegation, is now indicted with having carnal knowledge with a girl under 15.
According to the age of the girl, all the prosecution has to do is to prove penetration. The accused cannot raise the question of consent.
The report by social worker of the Ministry of Human Services, Denise Ralph, who had received the anonymous report  about the accused having sex with the girl, testified to the jury that she  had visited the scene as outlined in the report.
There, she said, she interviewed the mother and the victim.
The witness testified that the victim took them to a bed in the room of the house where she said the accused had sex with her about five times.
The other witness, Corporal Lorna Adonis, of the Providence Police Station, said that she visited the scene of the alleged crime and was taken to the home of the accused, in company with the mother and her daughter, and thence to a one room house. The victim then pointed to a bed in the room where she said the accused had sex with her about five times.
The witness Adonis said that the accused had admitted that the victim used to do odd jobs at his home, for which he used to pay her. But the accused denied that he ever had sexual intercourse with the girl.
The mother and victim are expected to testify today before Justice Winston Patterson and a mixed jury.
