…believed to be that of missing security guard
The swollen and disfigured body of an unidentified man was yesterday fished out of the Lamaha Canal, North Ruimveldt, Georgetown, yesterday.
The body was lying face down in the canal, fully clad, with a green haversack which contained two plastic bowls, an empty beverage bottle and a plastic bag. He was wearing a blue pants and a cream checkered shirt.
The corpse was spotted by several residents, who frequent the area to swim. They alerted the police and the body was taken away by Lyken’s Funeral Parlour at about 14:00hrs.
This is the second unidentified corpse to be found in the city since the year began.
About a week ago, the unidentified corpse of a man was pulled from the North Road, Bourda, trench.
Meanwhile, Marsha Richardson, daughter of Hilton Richardson, who went missing after leaving home for work, believes that the body found yesterday is that of her father.
Up to press time, she was at the police station waiting to identify the body.
Last Saturday, Hilton Richardson, 65, of 156 Non Pariel Street, Albouystown, Georgetown, went missing.
The father of eight and grandfather of 17 was last seen wearing a gray shirt, blue pants, a brown pair of shoes, and a red Digicel cap and carrying a green bag.
Marsha Richardson yesterday said that her father never returned home after work as a security guard. He is an epileptic and “drinks hard”.
