BLASPHEMY laws are a deadly weapon in the hands of the majority community in Pakistan, to harass the helpless minorities with all sorts of false and flimsy accusations. Taseer, the assassinated governor of the Punjab Province, showed exceptional courage in speaking out against these laws and has had to pay for this with his life. He is a true martyr for secularism. We, who have a secular constitution, are fortunate not to have such unjust and discriminatory laws.
