Teen goes missing

– after attending ‘Big Lime’ with relatives
FIFTEEN-year-old Latiffa Marks, of 257 Foreshaw Street, Queenstown, Georgetown, has been reported missing.
Relatives said she left in the company of her sister Aqueena Matthews and cousins, all of the same address, to attend the ‘Main Big Lime’ in the city, on Sunday (Boxing Day), but apparently disappeared from them in the crowd.

Her distraught mother Lisa Sagon and cousins recalled that Latiffa and others left home around 18:30 hrs and were having fun together at the Lime and even took photographs.

However, it was not until they were ready to leave and about to board a bus to take them to the park, that they realised she was missing.

They immediately made a cell phone call to an elder [female] cousin who was also in the Main Street Avenue and informed her of the dilemma. Shocked on learning of this development, the woman said she immediately began making a search for the missing teen, but yielded nothing.

The elder cousin informed this newspaper last night that, at around 7:05hrs yesterday morning, a female called their home in Queenstown and informed her that Latiffa (at that time) was on her way home in a taxi. According to the female voice on the phone, the child told her that her cousins with whom she had gone to the Lime had left for home without her.

Without going into details, the caller said that the teen was in a taxi on her way home.

Asked by the child’s cousin, where was the taxi coming from, the caller replied, “From Front Circle,” and hung up.

The woman said she did not get a chance to ask the caller who she was, or where did the child spend the night.

This has left her even more perturbed since, after waiting for a considerable while, the child still did not show up.

In the meantime the family made several phone calls to other relatives and friends, enquiring about the missing teen, but they yielded nothing. Several hours passed, and by the end of the day, they decided on raising a public alert.

At the time she disappeared, the teen was dressed as seen in the photo with this article, which was taken at the Main Big Lime.
