I write to you at this time of the year with feelings of elation as well as trepidation.
The continued efforts by sincere and well guided world leaders continue to be guided by faith. The sometimes fringe elements who choose to dampen our spirits especially at Christmas must be ignored.
The elation is that lots of giving and sharing is happening during this time, with people giving more charity and reaching out to loved ones more than ever.
I would like to remind the world that Jesus is a dear, holy brother, friend, Prophet, guide and Messiah that came when the world was broken with hideous bigots. He arrived as a blessing not only to our blessed Mother, the Virgin Mary, but to the world at large. He came to the lost sheep of Israel, as he would say. The fact that he was born miraculously to a woman who was known to be chaste and Muslims share together with Christians belief in the Immaculate Conception is enough for us to celebrate.
For those who are broken this is the time that Jesus’ teachings come alive and give you hope. For those who are unloved, the life of Jesus is that love is greater than faith and hope. For those who are dying without guidance, then Jesus walked on water and raised the dead to life because He wants you to know God is alive and the Hereafter is no joke. For those that are living in ghettoes and victims of slander know that Jesus’ life was not in any other place but the dusty streets and farms of Nazareth. He stood for justice and not only gave the other cheek; he chased the usurious money changers from the place of worship. Jesus gives us the most important thing in life and that is when the world seems to say you cannot do it and you’re judged before you’re tried, then remember he remained steadfast on the dreams of Godliness and spoke in the cradle, defending his mother that she is chaste and he is the servant of God.
Quran 3:45 -47 Lo! The angels said: “O Mary! Behold, God sends you the glad tiding, through a word from him, [of a son] who shall become known as the Christ Jesus, son of Mary, of great honour in this world and in the life to come, and [shall be] of those who are drawn near unto God.
And he shall speak unto men in his cradle, and as a grown man, and shall be of the righteous.”
Said she :”O my Sustainer! How can I have a son when no man has ever touched me?” [The angel] answered: “Thus it is: God creates what he wills, when he wills a thing to be, he says unto it, ‘Be’ – and it is.
So may we see some love, taste some affection and enjoy some hope during this festive season. For such is the promise of faith, another day is here, another year has drawn, and another era dawns, for humanity sake. For those that celebrate, Merry Christmas! May your New Year be filled with all good things and more love that you can think!
