THE Guyana National Dominoes Association (GNDA)-organised Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL) Ivanoff Vodka’s sponsored nationwide dominoes tournament has reached its playoff stage which takes place today at the Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) pavilion.
Trappers, Mo-Fire, Brutal Jammers and Doubles from the East Coast, Rage, Scramblers, Blue Birds ‘B’, Mix UP, Brasil, T&T and another zone winner from Georgetown, Bird Nest from Linden, T.X from Essequibo, Frankie’s, Steel Boat, Domino King and another team from West Demerara along with Leguan’s Match Ticket will all be battling for the top prize of $300 000 and trophy.
The second-, third- and fourth-placed teams will pocket $150 000. $125 000 and $75 000 each, while the tournament’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) will walk away with $10 000 and apart from outfitting each team and the tournament officials with t-shirts and giving a pack of dominoes, DDL presented all teams with an Ivanoff Hamper at the time of their entry into the tournament.
