Narrow minds lead to narrow vision and progress

IT IS amazing to read so many negative blogs regarding the new immigration policy for Chinese, and the five per cent raise for civil servants.
A meeting called by the Chinese Association pointed out the unfair conditions facing Chinese in employment, and those seeking citizenship.. The President said what was expected of them, and I expect any immigrant in Guyana, regardless of ethnic origin.
Frankly, we need to encourage immigrants that have skills, occupations and an entrepreneurial spirit where needed to help build Guyana. The more citizens we have that do not belong to the two largest racial groups, the more likely they will help to change political parties into more bi-racial ones.
So let’s welcome limited immigration of other races, and people who can help grow our agricultural, industrial and business potential.  Guyana has limited finances, and is operating with less than adequate infrastructure and human skills, which limits what raises can be given, without robbing Peter to pay Paul.  Just saying.
