I TRULY can understand the fear factor that goes with a doctor tainted as a ‘Child Molester.’ While I believe in forgiveness, and even argue that he can be given a supervised chance, definitely, the stress of such supervision will be too huge on any administration. This notwithstanding, I do believe in MERCY AND FORGIVENESS, especially when one has served time, and according to civilized norm, paid his/her debt to society and have reformed.
To show mercy is to be God-like in character. To forgive is Divine. But with children and women, we all are exceedingly careful. Hence, the Human Services Minister’s concerns and those of civil society are truly understandable.
But I would advocate to let him have his license to work, but let him work with institutions like the prisons, to attend to the needs of prisoners, and maybe the military and police.
If the Military and Police will not have him, then definitely the prisons could use him. GIVE HIM A CHANCE TO SURVIVE AND SERVE IN HIS DISCIPLINE. I can just imagine how he feels at this time, with the world closed to him, his occupation virtually dead, shamed to be in the world, he probably feels and wishes that the earth would open up and swallow him, and yes, maybe he deserves that pain and suffering, but let us not drive him to desperation and possibly suicide.
So I appeal to the authorities: Please give him the chance to at least serve the prisons.
When pushed to a wall, one could do dangerous and despicable things to society, or to self. Or he could sit and write a memoir of his experience, which could be a seller and which could teach. He also could seek employment as an educator in discipline, but will they allow that too.
Allow him to work
