Remand prisoner consumes ‘formalin’

after Magistrate informed him that he had been found guilty
THE police are investigating an incident which occurred at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court at about 15:25 hrs yesterday whereby remanded prisoner Earl
Melville, who was on a charge of trafficking in narcotics, drank a quantity of suspected ‘formalin’ after the Magistrate informed him that he had been found guilty of the offence.

Melville has been admitted a patient at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation.
