THIRTY-NINE-YEAR-OLD Sharon Monplaisir alias ‘Big Red’, of St. John Street, New Amsterdam, Berbice, was sentenced to three years imprisonment, last week, on conviction for a drug offence.
She had pleaded guilty, before Magistrate Adela Nagamootoo in New Amsterdam Court, to being in possession of two grammes of cocaine concealed in her underwear.
Police Corporal Roberto Figueira, prosecuting, said, on November 16, ranks on mobile patrol saw the known character standing in a yard and acting in a suspicious manner.
The Prosecutor said a search of her, then, unearthed nothing but, at Central Police Station in New Amsterdam, a body search yielded the prohibited substance in a ‘crazy glue’ bottle, hidden in her underwear.
The single mother told the magistrate she is addicted to the narcotic and smokes it.
