A sweeping statement that would offend many Guyanese

FREDDIE Kissoon in his article captioned “Propaganda or sincere beliefs though not grounded in reality?” in KN, 24.12.10, makes a bold statement that “nuff’ construction is occurring in the country under the illegal auspices of money laundering. What a statement, that will not go down well with especially the Guyanese working class. After all, such a statement’s inference is very clear and does not need a legal interpretation.
Now, Mr. Kissoon has always bemoaned the quantum of salary, even his own, paid to local public servants, as he has again done in this article. So, logics demand that since he has always complained about salary inadequacy, inclusive of his, then perhaps he can explain just how he has found himself in an upscale area, residing in a mansion-type residence? Did his meagre salary afford him such a comfort?  And what if a negative inference is made in his instance as to source of construction, would he not rant and rave? Would he not feel offended?
It is time that this columnist desists from such statements that can best be described as sweeping in nature, and think of the offence that such would have caused so many Guyanese.
