THE Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) Programme, in collaboration with the Disabled People’s Network, has organised an awareness walk in Essequibo, to celebrate Disabled International Day on Saturday, December 4.
A blind member of the Essequibo Coast CBR, Mr. Seedat Katwaroo told the Guyana Chronicle they will begin walking from Queenstown, at 08:00 hrs and proceed to the New Opportunity Corps (NOC) pavilion, at Onderneeming, where Chairman of Region Two (Pomeroon/Supenaam), Mr. Alli Baksh and Regional Health Officer, Dr. Allison Brown will address the gathering.
Katwaroo said the theme for the occasion is ‘Together for better’ and the procession is one of several planned Disability Week observance in the Region.
An amputee’s cycle race, on November 28 and a December 5 domino competition are also on the schedule.
