DIGICEL kicked off its Christmas promotion at Georgetown Club, in Camp Street, Georgetown, last Friday night.

Dubbed ‘Digicel’s Christmas Magic Numbers’, it offers customers a chance to win millions of dollars in cash and the new Blackberry 9800 (Blackberry Torch).

The occasion was at a ‘Wine and Cheese’ cocktail party, to which the media were specially invited, and where Digicel Head of Marketing, Ms. Jacqueline James explained how the competition will be run.

She said participating is very simple, all people have to do is ‘top up’ with $500 and  receive a text message with an individual magic number.

“You then have to tune in to NCN every Sunday at 19:30 h to see if your number will be selected to be the one of seven winners,” James said.

She said the magic numbers draw will be hosted by Miss Guyana Universe, Tamika Henry and the first four numbers drawn would win a Torch and the last three, one million dollars each.

At the same function, Digicel officially introduced the ‘Blackberry Torch’ to the local Guyana market. The instrument features a large touch screen and optical track pad with a backlit slide-out keyboard, among its unique features.
