Guinness ‘Greatness of De Streets’ Football…

Third round action kicks off tonight in Albouystown
THIRD round action in the second annual Banks DIH sponsored Guinness ‘Greatest of De Streets’ football competition kicks off tonight at the Albouystown Basketball Tarmac, instead of the East Ruimveldt Daycare Centre tarmac.
According to the fixtures, Yarrowkabra, who suffered a humiliating defeat from the feet of West Front Road in their first match, will be looking to redeem themselves when they face Tucville Big Yard in tonight’s first game.
Alexander Street will then look to stop the advances of Kitty in the next encounter, followed by the Durban Street/Punt Trench and Bent Street/Festival City encounter before the break in the night’s proceedings for fans to win various Guinness giveaways.
On the resumption of play, Leopold Street will engage Laing Avenue, East Front Road will do battle with Broad Street ‘B’, East La Penitence will take on Stevedore H/Scheme while West Front Road and Queen Street (Tiger Bay) will culminate the night’s proceedings.
Meanwhile, in Friday night’s action at the National Cultural Centre NCC) tarmac, Delon Small scored the lone hat trick of the night as Albouystown ‘A’ defeated West Back Road 4-1 in their matchup.
Small found the back of the net in the 9th, 10th and 12th minutes respectively and along with Devon Dooker’s 16th minute strike, led their team to an upset victory, with Sherman Fraser scoring West Back Road’s lone goal in the 16th minute.
In the first match of the evening, Kingston through goals from Gavin Forde (16th) and Leonard Wade (18th) defeated Woolford Avenue 2-0, followed by the Albouystown ‘B’/Sophia clash which the latter came from behind to win 2-1.
Even though they controlled the mode of play, Sophia found themselves behind the eight ball when Michael Younge scored Albouystown ‘B’ lone goal in the 14th minute of the match.
Sheik Kamal nullified Younge’s goal with his 16th minute strike before Shemroy Arthur scored in the 18th minute to ensure their team showed the results of their domination at the end of the match.      
National Cultural Centre Tarmac was also rampant that evening as they whipped Meadow Brook 6- 1, thanks to Pernell Shultz and Aubrey Clark who scored two goals each, while Jamal Nichols and Leroy Griffith shared the other two goals amongst themselves.
Holmes Street Tiger Bay got the better of North Street Lodge 2- 1, thanks to a goal each from Keoma Gravesande and Joel Lloyd, while Delon Legal netted for the losers, with Back Circle also being successful with a 2-0 win over Globe Yard, thanks to Delon Edinborough and Quason Alleyne. North Last Entrance defeated Island All- Stars 1- 0, courtesy of Travis Grant, who found the back of the net in the 16th minute, while Eon Bacchus netted in the 16th minute as Costello Housing Scheme defeated Drysdale Street 1- 0.
