(REUTERS) – The Utah Jazz scored the final nine points to defeat the fading Atlanta Hawks 90-86 Friday and record their fourth successive come-from-behind triumph.
The Jazz rallied from an 11-point fourth-quarter deficit to hand the Hawks their fourth straight loss after Atlanta started the season with six straight wins.
It was the fourth straight game the Jazz had rallied from a double-digit deficit to win.
“We have great chemistry as a group. On the court, off the court, we love playing with each other and being around each other,” Jazz guard Deron Williams said.
“We’re having fun winning. Hopefully we can continue.”
Paul Millsap started the comeback with a lay-up with 3:18 left to pull the Jazz to within 86-83, and two minutes later hit a 19-foot jumper to give the Jazz an 88-86 lead.
Still clinging to their two-point lead, Millsap fouled Al Horford with just seven seconds left, but Horford missed both attempts. One second later, Williams, who led the Jazz with 24 points and 10 assists, sealed the victory hitting a pair of free throws.
“It’s a tough loss to take,” Horford said. “We were tough and we hung in there. I have to take the blame for not knocking down those free throws at the end.
“But I will just have to keep working because I know I will have my chances at the end.”
The Jazz spread their offence around as Al Jefferson scored 15 points, Andrei Kirilenko scored 14, and reserve C.J. Miles added 13 points. Joe Johnson led the Hawks scoring 24 points and Josh Smith added 20 points.
