District 10 Upper Demerara/Kwakwani surge into the lead with 325 ½ points
… double wins for Ageday, Carto and Dennis

DOUBLE wins were recorded by Under-18 athlete of District 4 East Coast Demerara Chavez Ageday, District 11’s Tiffany Carto and District 10 Upper Demerara’s Laniece Dennis; but District 10 surged into the lead after 60 finals with 325 points, after three days of action as the 50th annual National Schools
track and field and cycling and swimming championships continued yesterday at the Guyana National Stadium, Prividencen  yesterday.
At the conclusion of the fourth day last night District 10 Upper Demerara were coasting on 325½ points, with District 6 second on 213, District 9 had 210½ points, followed by District 11 on 205, District 5 on 193, District 12 on 176, District 13 on 143½, District 3 on 142, District 15 with 137½, District 14 on 120, District 12 on 100, Districts 1 and 7 with 77 each, District 16 on 19½ and District 8 with eight points.
After winning the Boys’ Under-18 100m race the previous day Chavez Ageday came back to score the double, winning in a time of 22.7secs ahead of District 13’s Stephon James with Carl  District 3’s Carl Tudor  third.
District 10’s Keyandra Zephyr won the Under-18 Girls’ race in 26.7secs from Nikita Joseph of District 5  as District 12’s Mitchell was third.   
District 13’s Tiffany Carto who had taken the 100m Under-209 Girls’ title added the 200m to her bag with a 26.7secs performance which pushed Leanna Fields of District 10 into second spot from Ebony Nelson of District 12 who placed third.
The Under-20 Boys’ race saw District 11’s Carlwyn Collins taking the top spot, thus denying  a third title for  Upper Demerara’s Winston Caesar (Jr.) who had won the 100m dash along with the long jump event earlier.
District 10’s Laniece Dennis also was in the double winners’ row after winning the Girls’ Under-16 race as she took first in the 200m in 26.7secs from District 11’s Shaquane Daniels who was second and District 13’s Tasnica Lovell third.
The Under-14 Boys’ 200m race went to District 6 Carlos Trinidad as he beat District 11’s Deanawn Vancooten into the runner-up spot as District 1’s Aldin Simpson was third.
The Under-14 200m Girls’ title was taken by District 11’s Ashley Tasher who defeated Daniella Adrian of District 10 and District 13’s Tirana Mitchell in that order.
The Boys’ Under-12 race over 200m was won by District 3’s Alex Welcome from District 15’s Tyrell Peters with District 10’s Daniel Williams third.
Meanwhile, District 6 led the points table in the cycling championships with 173 points followed by District 10 with 144, District 15 on 114, District 4 had 98, District 45 on 92 points, District 11 with 90 and District 12 being the leading districts in the hunt with today’s final day in this year’s National Schools’ championships at the Providence stadium.
