Defendant charged with marijuana possession granted bail

BOYE Griffith, 46, will have his drug case tried in another Court, to which Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry transferred it on Wednesday.
The defendant (no address given) pleaded not guilty to being in possession of six grammes cannabis (marijuana) on November 8.

Police Sergeant Lionel Harvey, prosecuting, said Griffith was observed acting in a suspicious manner inside a parked motor car and a search of the bag he was carrying yielded the narcotic.
Attorney-at-law Mr. Patrice Henry argued that the bag could have belonged to any of the other occupants in the vehicle and Griffith was put on $50,000 bail until February 2, 2011.
