A simple larceny matter was yesterday dismissed against 17-year-old Jabarry Hart (no address given) after the virtual complainant decided not to pursue the matter further. Hart pleaded not guilty to the charge before Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry. It is alleged that, on November 4, he stole from Charlene Adams one gold chain valued $75,000.
Adams told the court she did not wish to give further evidence against Hart,but she wanted her chain to be returned to her. She said the defendant snatched it from her.
The matter was dismissed and an order was made for the chain to be returned to Adams.
However, Adams was required to pay $25,000 as cost for wasting the court’s time.
