Bodies of two other drowning victims in Diwali day tragedy found

The bodies of the two girls who drowned in the Diwali fun day on Friday were found yesterday. The body of 12-year-old Mackenzie High School student Melinda Duggan, of Block 22 Wismar, was found floating in the Demerara River in the vicinity of Watooka, some 200 meters away from where the boat she was in capsized.

And later, close to Gold Hill, the body of 20-year-old Kishana Hollingsworth of 387 One Mile, Wismar, was found.
They all perished in the river when the boat they were in capsized as it was about to dock at Watooka , bringing to a halt Diwali celebrations at the guest house.
On Saturday, the body of the other victim, six-year-old Quacy Miggins, a pupil of the Regma Primary School, was found some 500 meters from where the mishap occurred.
The bodies were yesterday taken to the Linden Hospital complex in Mackenzie and then to the Wismar hospital Mortuary.
The captain of the speed boat is believed to be in police custody assisting in their investigations.
