THE Princess Hotel is set to come alive this evening when the second edition of the Caribbean Fury takes place with a number of top Guyanese boxers on show. During a press conference on Thursday at the Pegasus Hotel, promoter Carwyn Holland expressed confidence of another successful bout, while he also thanked the various sponsors who have come on board.
The fighters have also expressed optimism of winning their respective bouts in the various weight divisions.
The feature bout will see Guyana’s world-rated middleweight fighter Leon ‘Hurry-Up’ Moore clash with Venezuelan Breilor Teran in a non-title ten-round confrontation.
The main supporting bout will be between Guyana’s World female bantamweight champion Shondell ‘Mystery Lady’ Alfred in a ten-round encounter as well.
Meanwhile, also on the card, heavyweights Mitchell Rogers and Leon Gilkes will do battle, and Pauline London will collide with Guyana’s first female champion Gwendolyn ‘Stealth Bomber’ O’Neil in the female heavyweight contest.
In the other fight on the card Dominica-based Guyanese Clive Atwell will trade punches with Errol Trotman while another local pugilist Denny Dalton and American-based Guyanese Raul Frank, will touch gloves.
Canadian-based Jamaica will face off with local boy Mark Murray in a six-round battle.
The action is set to commence at 20:00 h. The weigh-in was done last night at the same venue.
