A FATHER of two, accused of rape, was remanded to prison yesterday by Magistrate Faith Mc Gusty at Suddie Court. Particulars of the offence said Dhanpaul Tulsi, a married farmer of Cozier, lower Pomeroon River, raped a 13-year-old repeatedly between September 1 and 30 last.
In a failed bail application on his behalf, attorney-at-law Mr. Latchmin Dindial said Tulsi and his wife, with whom he is living, have two small children.
However, Police Prosecutor Gibson objected to the grant on the ground that the victim lives in the same house with the accused.
Tulsi will make his next Court appearance November 15 at Charity, also on Essequibo Coast.
