Police arrest four in ‘Ganja Eradication Operation’

– one-acre field of cultivated plants destroyed
FOUR persons are in Police custody following ‘a cannabis eradication operation’ at  Kuru Kururu on the Linden/Soesdyke Highway yesterday, during which a field of about one acre of cultivated Ganja was found and subsequently destroyed.
The Police, in a statement, said that between 04:30 hrs and 07:30 hrs yesterday, ranks from Division ‘A’ Georgetown/East Bank Demerara conducted “a cannabis eradication operation” in the area of First Creek, Kuru Kururu on the Linden/Soesdyke  Highway.
“During the operation, a field of about one acre, cultivated with about one thousand plants between six and twelve inches tall, a camp, fertilizer and other items were destroyed,” the Police reported.
“Four male persons were arrested and are in police custody assisting with investigations,” it added.
