Surely not scores as Kaieteur News headline suggests

FEATURING prominently on the cover of the last Sunday edition of Kaieteur News (2010/10/17) was the headline “Scores escape death following two-vehicle collision”. I am puzzled since a score is 20 and only two vehicles were involved, I went to the story on page 10, not surprisingly the article failed to explain how scores were injured in the accident.
Using the word “scores” implies that at least 40 persons were injured. However, if one were to do some calculations you would see that a standard minibus (as was pictured) seats 13 persons and a vehicle of the type (also pictured) pictured seats four persons – together a total of 17 persons.  Even if the bus was to overloaded and had 16 or 17 persons and the car had seat five, surely the number would not exceed 22 persons.
But the article mentions no other person in the private car besides the driver so we can assume there was one person in that car and the bus was carrying a full load of 13, bringing the number to 14.  Surely not “scores” as the article exaggerates and states. But perhaps it is KN at its usual sensationalising self sacrifices accuracy.
