Mrs. Jagan will be remembered for her outstanding contribution

ON  October 20 former President of Guyana Ms Janet Jagan would have celebrated her 90th birth anniversary, I would like to pay a tribute to this great woman who gave over 60 years of her life to this beautiful country of ours, something that many Guyanese would not done. Born in Chicago, Illinois, USA and came to British Guiana in 1943 leaving a developed country to fight for the freedom of the Guyanese people to have free and fair elections and most of all for women to have the right to vote without owning property and big bank accounts, Mrs. Jagan will be remembered for her outstanding contribution to this country.
I am still waiting for the Government of Guyana to name something in her memory, eg, the National Park should be renamed to Janet Jagan Fun Park. In 1957 while Mrs. Jagan was Minister of Labour, Health and Housing she was responsible for the opening up of the National Park which was a golf course at that time and above all Janet Jagan served in all sections in our country, Labour Union, Deputy Speaker of the Legislature, Minister of Labour Health, Housing and Home Affairs, Journalist, Ambassador to the United Nations, Chairperson to the Castellani House, First Lady of  Guyana, Prime Minister of Guyana and Executive President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces and above all the recipient of Guyana Highest National Award, Order of Excellence OE.
Long live the memories of Janet Jagan
Long live the works of Janet Jagan
Long lives a great Heroin!
