IT has been over six months now since the construction of two bridges on the East Coast Demerara(Annandale/Buxton) started but the completion of this project is nowhere in sight.
This has caused heavy traffic build up, especially in the mornings and afternoons during the rush hours, as such vehicles are diverted to the railway embankment access road to avoid the heavy congestion at the bridges resulting in many commuters being forced to walk long distances to their homes because of the diversion of traffic.
It’s amazing the length of time these two bridges are taking to complete, while another bridge at Vigilance is now in the process of being rebuilt which will add more delay and confusion to residents on the E.C.D.
Can the minister in charge of this project investigate the slowness of the process?
