DARSHANIE Matadin, the dead Qualfon Call Centre employee, of La Bonne Intention, East Coast Demerara will be laid to rest today, even as mystery still surrounds her death.
The body is expected to be at her home for viewing from 10:30 h to 13:00 h and then there will be a funeral service prior to burial at 15:30 h.
A post mortem examination on the corpse proved inconclusive and specimens from it were taken for further tests, ahead of an anticipated report on Friday.
The 24-year-old went to work Wednesday, at Beterverwagting, also on the East Coast of Demerara but collapsed and was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH), where she succumbed on Thursday afternoon.
She had been employed at Qualfon for two years and 10 months and held the position of Quality Analyst.
Not known to be suffering from any illness before dying, Darshanie was described as a quiet and peaceful person who always wore a smile but, sometimes, appeared to be sad.
While her father, Pastor Mohan Matadin maintained that he does not want an investigation into her demise, Police Crime Chief, Assistant Commissioner Seelall Persaud said they investigate all unnatural deaths and, as such, are awaiting laboratory findings.
Meanwhile, Police Divisional Commander, Assistant Commissioner Gavin Primo told the Guyana Chronicle that, since no report was made by relatives of the deceased, he is not privy to the surrounding circumstances. (Vanessa Narine)
