ACTING Chief Justice, Mr. Ian Chang S.C on Wednesday admitted to the Guyana Bar, one of the best Guyanese graduating students from the Hugh Wloding Law School, who graduated on September 28 this year. Miss James, whose petition for admission was presented to the Chief Justice, by lawyer Mrs. Kim Kyte-John, hails from Victoria Village, East Coast Demerara. She is the daughter of Ms. Glandene Reis and Paul James.
She attended Anandale Secondary School and got her early education from Victoria Nursery and Primary Schools.
Miss James also attended President’s College from 2003 to 2005 and was one of the two recipients of the Government of Guyana prize for the best graduating student.
She was also awarded the Justice Jessel Hannays Memorial Prize for the best performance in the Law of remedies.
Attorney-at-Law James thanked the Chief Justice for his kind words, her presentor Mrs. Kyte-John for presenting her petition for admission to the Guyana Bar, and to her tutors for their guidance.
She also had a word of praise for her parents, friends and all those who had assisted her in one way or the other.
She promised that she would do all in her power to uphold the high traditions of the Bar. (George Barclay)
