WHY are “Chutney Promoters” not registering their businesses? Why are they allowed to operate and promote shows in Guyana without registration?  They must be legal entities.
Why are some given tax-free shelters to spread immorality, vulgarity and noise? We need to stop importing trash music and performers.
How do they promote Tourism? Maybe the relevant Tax Authority, the Minister of Tourism and government can help us with this guidance.
I wish to file a contempt of Court Suite for noise nuisance and criminality disturbing my rest, and others in Atlantic Gardens and not respecting the Injunction/ Court Order # 174W issued against a businessman. The promoter/owner of Caribbean Fire Fest appears to be an illegal business, according to an investigator. This entity with others are preaching and teaching immorality and addicting our youths to alcohol and promoting noise ,vulgarity and even marijuana because the Chutney Songs are sung glorifying alcohol, bad behaviour and marijuana. Nasty jokes are made with vulgar description of women body parts.
I am asking the tax authorities to investigate this Caribbean Fire Fest Noise Makers and ensure it is legal and let them pay their taxes. Further, the authorities in this country should have a standard and an enforcement arm to monitor these shows.
To note the content of vulgarity and techniques of addicting children and damaging their hearing and health, people could sue them for disturbance of rest, migraines and other health problems; these noise makers seem to think that because they enjoy loud, dirty, and dingy music, everyone also likes them.

The government has to realise there is no magic to heal decay and decadence, Abuse and domestic abuse are more rampant because live shows extol alcohol, marijuana and disrespecting women. Asking the IRO and faith based organisations to help with such decay will come to naught, unless such noisy and vulgar messages are not permitted on radio, television and open shows. It is a fact that loud music, nasty words on songs and dirty vulgar Gyrations create negative effects and negativistic impact on children (youths) which in turn creates a decadent and decayed society. NCN radio must cease playing songs glorifying alcohol.
The Government of Guyana must not expect the Inter Religious Organization and faith based institutions to make magic. They have to set laws that bite and codes for control of stinky shows. It has to be a multi-pronged approach.
Noise Nuisance can cause people to loose their hearing faculty; some suffer from hypertension, heart ailments and other sicknesses. This is in addition to being poor producers at work and industry. Some die of heart attacks. Our youths are destroyed and we are becoming hopeless.
Why does Guyana need a loudest sound system in the world as advertised by “Travelers Sound System”! Why? Are we deaf or do we want to become deaf?
