The Minister of Home Affairs has signed the order in keeping with Section 48.1 of the Motor Vehicle and Road Traffic Act, Chapter 51:02, which stipulates that no motor lorries and slow moving vehicles be allowed to use the city (Georgetown) and East Bank Public Road between Houston and Timehri from Monday to Saturday between 07:00h to 09:00h and 16:00h to 18:00h.
This order takes effect from today (October 1, 2010) and is in light of concern by members of the public of congestion during the above mentioned hours.
