Golden Jaguars defend terrain against Soca Warriors today
TODAY, all roads lead to the Guyana National Stadium for what is anticipated to be an exciting day of football as the Golden Jaguars Senior and Junior teams face off against Trinidad and Tobago’s Soca Warriors Senior and Junior teams in the inaugural Kashif and Shanghai President’s Cup International Friendly.
Action gets under way at 16:00 h. Spectators will get their football appetites warmed up as Linden’s Under-17 challenge Georgetown Under-17 then at 18:00 h the Golden Jags and Soca Warriors junior teams go head to head. The big boys come out to play from 20:00 h in the highly anticipated match, which is expected to be a terrific 90 minutes of play, between the number one rated CONCACAF team Trinidad and the local boys who occupy the number three spot in that rating.
Both the Guyanese Under-20 and Senior squads have stated that they intend to play for victory and boasted that they are quite confident of winning in their showdowns today.
The Golden Jaguars have spared no expense in assembling a strong line-up to go against the top Caribbean side.
Ranked 76th in the world and coming off of a comfortable victory against Antigua in the past week, Trinidad will indeed be no team to fall to casual play put forth by their opponents.
