Police looking at suspicious material from under car

Mangar murder investigation…
COMMISSIONER Henry Greene said, yesterday, that the Police are looking at some material that was found under the motor car suspected to have run over and killed Demerara Bank employee Sheema Mangar.

He said what is being looked at seems to resemble fabric from the uniform the young woman was wearing at the time of the incident and chemicals would be used to verify whether it is the same.
Greene told reporters that a suspect who was held has been released on bail pending further investigations and Police are trying to find an eyewitness who saw the thief with her cell phone in the vehicle that hit Mangar.

The Commissioner said no human remains were retrieved from under the car but the suspect has not yet been cleared of suspicion.
Mangar, 21, of Lot 675 Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara, succumbed to her injuries at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, on September 11, after having been robbed of the phone while awaiting transportation home at the corner of North Road and Camp Street in Georgetown, on September 10.
