Defence claims larceny allegation made after severed relationship

ODESSA Thomas (no address given) was yesterday charged, before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Beharry, with simple larceny.
But, after she pleaded not guilty to the offence, attorney-at-law Mr. Donald Trotman, who entered appearance on her behalf, claimed that the virtual complainant, Carlton Sam made the allegation because his relationship with the defendant was over.
Particulars of the offence alleged said, on September 19, Thomas stole a television mobile phone valued $23,000 in booty valued a total of $54,000.
Trotman said Thomas is a single parent of six and a security guard.
She was granted $25,000 bail and the case was transferred to another Court for October 26.
