Seawall upset Rosignol United at home in GFF Super League

SEAWALL Football Club surprised the contingent who came out to support one of the top runners of the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) National Super League, Rosignol United, with an upset on home territory on Sunday at the Blairmont Community Centre ground.
Seawall, in the cellar position with eight points got past Rosignol United 4-2. That defeat dropped Rosignol (20 points) from third to fifth.

Alpha still command the standing with 30 points while Camptown, their closest opponents trail by seven points and the Guyana Defence Force (GDF), Milerock and Rosignol United follow with 22, 21 and 20 points respectively.
On Sunday, four matches were contested in the competition as Victoria Kings got the better of Buxton United 4-3 in a nail-biting encounter at the Enmore ground. Buxton United led 2-0 at halftime but the East Coast giants fought their way back into the game to emerge victorious.
At the Georgetown Football Club ground, Bakewell Topp XX and Camptown played to a dreary 1-1 draw. Nevertheless the one point attained by Camptown was enough to keep them in second place.
GDF gave a terrific performance to trounce Milerock by 2-0 and to step up to third place with 22 points while Milerock (21) slipped to fourth place.
This Saturday the Enmore ground comes alive with Victoria Kings facing Topp XX at 14:00 h then Buxton United going head to head with Milerock at 16:00 h.
The women’s competition will resume tomorrow at the GFC ground when Rupununi and East Coast compete at 17:00 h.
