REGIONAL Chairman of Region Two (Pomeroon/Supenaam), Mr. Alli Baksh has presided over the first planning meeting Essequibo Night, scheduled for October 22 and 23.
He said the Regional Administration will be in charge of the exhibition and fair, for which 85 booths would be constructed on Anna Regina Community Centre ground, Essequibo Coast, to showcase local products and produce from the Region and across the country.
Baksh said several committees have been established with responsibilities for construction, finance and organisation, tickets and gate, transportation, sanitation, security, stage preparation, accommodation, culture and the opening ceremony.
He said all the groups are working towards making the two-day event a grand success.
According to Baksh, several local manufacturing companies and farmers have already indicated their interest in participating.
