The team that managed the support to farmers Saturday comprised Justin McKenzie, Project Coordinator, Rural Enterprise and Agriculture Development;  Nizam Hassan, General Manager, New Guyana Marketing Corporation; and  Ali Baksh, Region Two Chairman, who coordinated assistance from the Regional Administration.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Agriculture will continue to provide support to farming communities affected in other areas by the recent spring tide and will continue its support to the River and Sea Defence Unit of the Ministry of Public Works in coastal and riverine areas that are vulnerable to overtopping.
