GOVERNMENT, through the Regional Administration in Region Two (Pomeroon/Supenaam), has donated a 40 horse power ‘Yamaha’ outboard engine and accessories to the Mashabo Village Council.
Region Two Chairman, Mr. Alli Baksh handed over the gifts to Village Toshao, Mr. Sylvin Raphael yesterday morning in the Anna Regina compound of the Regional Democratic Council (RDC).
Raphael said the engine will be used to transport 30 students who are attending secondary schools, also on Essequibo Coast and to provide medical services to residents living in remote areas along the banks of Ituribisi Lake.
He thanked the Government and Baksh for the donation and promised to use it for providing services to the villagers, who are mostly involved in the lumber business.
