GFF National Football tournament …

Alpha United and Georgetown teams tighten grip on lead
AT the conclusion of an interesting weekend of football in the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) National Super League and Women’s Inter-Association competitions a few changes in the points standing became evident.

In Linden, Milerock demolished the boys from the Ancient County, Rosignol United, four goals to one while in game two, Alpha continued their invincibility by scoring three unanswered goals against the hapless Bakewell Topp XX.
At the Georgetown Football Club ground, GDF thrashed Buxton United by three goals to nil, at Uitvlugt, Camptown rolled over Seawall by three goals to one and at Bartica, Victoria Kings edged the home team Liquid Gold by 2 -1.

Women’s Inter-Association
In the women’s tournament, Georgetown got the better of East Coast by three goals to nil at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) ground.
All goals were scored in the first half as Shennel Daniels, Valeri Hunter and Nicola Leacock were successful in the fourth, 18th and 32nd minutes to help their team move on to 11 points; four points away from their closet opponents, Linden (7 points).
The next female fixture will be played on Wednesday, September 22 with Lethem coming up against East Coast at the GFC ground.
