PRESIDENT Bharrat Jagdeo will swear in the members of the Teaching Service Commission (TSC) today in the Credentials Room of the Office of the President, and will do the same for the members of the Indigenous People’s Commission (IPC) on Wednesday at the same venue.
This was announced by Cabinet Secretary Dr. Roger Luncheon during his post-Cabinet press conference held at the Office of the President.
Dr. Luncheon said that members of the TSC include Leila Ramson, Mohamed Khan, Allan Munroe and two ex-officio members – the acting Chief Education Officer and a member from the Guyana Teachers Union. The tenure of the TSC will be from 2010 to 2013, the HPS said.
On Wednesday, the members of the IPC will be sworn in at 14:00 hours. Among the members being sworn in are Chairperson of the National Toshaos Council Yvonne Pearson, Marco de Souza, Doreen Jacobis, David James, George Simon, Captain Gerry Gouveia, Commissioner of Forestry James Singh Father Malcolm Rodrigues, and Norman Whittaker.
