VISHAL Nandalall, 37, of Lot 40 Area ‘A’ Ogle, East Coast Demerara, was yesterday ordered to post $200,000 bail, when he appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Beharry charged with abducting a woman.
The indictable charge said he committed the offence on October 12, 2009, when he abducted Kedisha Imran, to cause her to be secretly confined.
Police Inspector Stephen Telford, prosecuting, said the accused went to the virtual complainant’s workplace, from where he forced her into his car and took her away.
Attorney-at-law Mr. Mark Waldron, for Nandalall, said the latter met the virtual complainant and they exchanged telephone numbers.
Subsequently, the lawyer said, Imran called the accused and requested him to pick her up and after he did, she made the allegation against him.
The case will be called, again, on September 14.
