New Zambian Ambassador appointed

–  seeking partnership to speak with one voice
GIVEN the history and economic similarities which Guyana and Zambia share in agriculture, mining and other fields, new Zambian High Commissioner to Guyana Joel Mulule Ngo is hoping that relations between the two countries become more bilateral.

He said the two countries share a “warm” relationship that dates back more than four decades, but noted that they were more at the multilateral level.
On Wednesday, Ambassador Ngo presented his Letters of Credence to President Bharrat Jagdeo expressing hope that the two countries speak with one voice on several pressing issues.

“Issues of poverty for our people, climate change and fair trade and world economics, if we speak with one voice we will be doing a service to our people,” High Commissioner Ngo said.

The High Commissioner was accompanied by his wife Mable Ngo and First Secretary Deliwe Mumbi, Minister of Foreign Affairs Carolyn Rodrigues-Birkett and Director General in the Ministry Elisabeth Harper.
Since his visit to Guyana, High Commissioner Ngo has engaged several government functionaries in discussions on a framework through which cooperation at the bilateral level can be achieved.

The Republic of Zambia is located in South Africa, neighbouring the Democratic Republic of Congo Tanzania, Malawi, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Botswana, and Namibia and Angola. Its capital is Lusaka.
