AFC should show respect for the Middle East

THE Alliance for Change went to New York and told an American official that Guyana is having relations with Middle East countries! The implied message is that this is a bad thing. One must wonder about the commonsense of this small and inexperienced party.
The Americans must have politely listened and then laughed as the AFC team exited because the U.S. is trying its best to do what Guyana is also doing – i.e. cultivate good relations in that part of the world.
There is a side of this story, however, that is not so funny. Is the AFC worried that Guyana is having good relations with Muslim countries? Why is the AFC afraid of this? Why run to the Americans to complain about Guyana’s relations with Islamic countries in the Middle East. The AFC should start respecting the Islamic Middle East. The AFC must also understand that it is in Guyana’s interest to have good relations with a wide spectrum of countries.
