Essequibo Coast housewife, son reported missing

TWENTY-THREE-YEAR-OLD housewife Parbattie Joseph and her two-year-old son, Gavindra Joseph, of Hibernia, Essequibo Coast, have been missing since last Friday. The woman’s husband, Preamindra Sattie said his wife and son left La Grange, West Bank Demerara in a hire car bound for Vreed-en-Hoop, West Coast Demerara, where they were supposed to join a bus to Parika, East Bank Essequibo.
They were expected to travel by boat to Essequibo Coast but had not arrived up to yesterday.
Sattie said his wife left home on August 15 to seek medical attention in Georgetown, as she suffers from heart problems.
According to him, she stayed with her mother, Sita Seegobin, at Parfait Harmonie Housing Scheme, West Bank Demerara.
Seegobin told the Guyana Chronicle, by telephone, her daughter departed her home dressed in a black jeans and a green top and her grandson wore a white jersey and a black three-quarters pants.
The distressed Seegobin said she accompanied the two to the public road and saw them off in the taxi.
Sattie said he has since called several relatives, enquiring about his wife and son. He also got no answer from his wife’s cell phone.
A report was made at La Grange Police Station and to the Probation and Welfare Office at Anna Regina, Essequibo Coast.
