DC Jammers take game two 80-73

THE DC Jammers continued their winning ways as they beat the President’s XII 80-73 in overtime of the second of the three-game series currently being contested at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall for the Godwin McPherson Memorial Trophy.
The locals seemed to be on a good footing throughout the first three quarters of the game which ended 21-19, 39-37 and 57-53 all in their favour.
The final quarter, however, was their breaking point as the DC Jammers managed to tie the scores at 65,
with the locals’ last glimmer of hope being in the form of Darcel Harris drawing a foul with one second left on the clock and going to the line to shoot two free throws both of which he missed as regulation time expired.
The DC Jammers came out swinging in overtime and managed to pull off a seven-point victory over the locals.
Joseph Flegler and Keron McKenzie top-scored for the DC Jammers with 21 points each and Mouktar Fawehinmi scored 13 points. Andrew Ifill led the scoring for the locals as he racked up 19 points, Royston Siland and Darcel Harris scored 15 points apiece and Akeem Khanai finished the game with 13 points under his belt.
The final match was set to be played off last night.
