Bible among items taken from robbery victims

MAGISTRATE Hazel Octave-Hamilton yesterday refused bail for 19-year-old Keith Tute who appeared in court slapped with two armed robbery charges.
Tute, of Lot ‘Q’ 78 Guyhoc Park, Georgetown, pleaded not guilty to two charges one of which said, on August 17, armed with a gun, he robbed Melbourne Blackman of a gold band, two gold rings, a cell phone and $20,000 cash, all valued $130,000.

The other allegation is that, on the same day, he robbed Onica Blackman at gunpoint of two gold rings, a pair of gold earrings, a cell phone, a shoulder bag, one Republic of Guyana passport, a bunch of keys, a bible and other documents, all worth $63,000.
Tute will remain in prison until August 31 when he is expected to make another court appearance.
