NEW air carrier expected by year end is like sweet music to the ears of most Guyanese especially those who live in Toronto Canada.
It is widely believed that those passengers on CA flights that are coming off first in Trinidad are travelling free off the backs of Guyanese.
I kid you not when two ladies showed me what they paid CA to travel to Guyana-$1,975.00 for each adult and $1,600.00 for their ten year old daughter. Many Guyanese often wonder how much those who are coming off in Trinidad pays.
Should Guyana go for this airline then one major change must be made. Those who worked during Guyana Air and all the other airlines that followed must not be working those offices anymore.
Most of them are part of the problem as they snub their fellow Guyanese when a complaint is made by passengers.
Complete and thorough checks must be done on those who clean the aircrafts, those that service the aircraft, pilots and co-pilots, stewardesses and stewards to ensure illicit drugs are not stashed on the aircraft.
Those who do pat down searches and manned scanners must be monitored carefully on what they are doing. Do sting operation on them to find out who knows who at the airport.
They must never be allowed their cell phones while on duty. Switch them around without notice when they arrive for work. Little things like these will go a long way to ensure drugs are not on those aircrafts.
At least two direct flights a week in the off peak seasons from Toronto to Guyana will do a world of good for Guyanese wanting to come home.
What Caribbean Air is doing to Guyanese is nothing short of sinister. It makes Guyanese wait in a plane in Trinidad for two hours on their way to Guyana. It makes Guyanese wait in their Trinidad airport for four hours before coming back to Toronto. Not to mention the price charged to Guyanese.
I hope the knock out punch will soon come to Caribbean Airlines. Their ill treatment of Guyanese must come to an end once and for all.
