Howard’s left leg and right forearm remained fitted in casts, when he appeared before Magistrate Adela Nagamootoo on Friday.
On Friday, Police Inspector Satrohan Dayaram, prosecuting, said on July 26 last, Howard was seen attempting to enter the building by security guard Charles Layne, who raised an alarm.
Nearby residents and other guards responded, and inflicted several lashes on Howard, breaking his arm and leg.
In response to the Magistrate, Howard said he was standing outside the building while two of his accomplices were inside, when the security guard ‘beat him up’, causing him to sustain ‘broken ribs, foot and hand’.
