from Supenaam to Charity
Essequibians are calling on the Ministry of Public Works and Hydraulics to install street lights along the Essequibo Coast public road from Supenaam to Charity.
Several Essequibians told the Guyana Chronicle that the Christmas season is fast approaching and they want the entire roadway to be lighted up for the festive season.
They said last year, just before the Christmas season, some 35 street lights were installed from Henrietta to Bush Lot in the commercial centre of Anna Regina, and Essequibians were overjoyed.
“We are very thankful to the Government, Minister Robeson Benn and Regional Chairman Mr Alli Baksh for considering the commercial centre of Anna Regina for the street lights.”
“This year we are looking forward to seeing street lights along the entire length of the public road, along streets, in the hospital area and around the Anna Regina, Bush Lot, Suddie and Charity Markets.
Some drivers said the street lights are very helpful at nights and would encourage more people come out to do shopping at supermarkets in the evenings.
