– anxiously awaits post mortem results
A SENSE of mourning pervaded the atmosphere in suburban Albouystown yesterday morning as news of the death of fellow resident, Shawn Wilkinson, spread.

Thirty-nine-year-old Wilkinson, the eldest brother of former World Welterweight Champion, Andrew ‘Six-Head’ Lewis, was found at around 06:00h lying on a concreted area aback his Hunter Street residence with blood oozing from his mouth and nostrils.
Wilkinson lived in a cottage at the back of the family’s property and was said to be gravely ill, as he suffered from Tuberculosis.
His mother, Louisa Wilkinson, told the Guyana Chronicle that she last saw Shawn on Saturday night, when she made him dinner, and that after having a bath, he told her he was going out and left.
She said she knew he had returned home some time Sunday morning, because she’d heard him open the gate to the premises. She’d also heard him coughing, she said.
She said that on learning that he was lying on the concrete aback the property, she hastened to see him, but she was too late. She barely got there in time to see him breathe his last, she said.
Sure enough, he was pronounced dead on arrival at the Georgetown Hospital.
Meanwhile, his only child, Meyonka Wilkinson, 18, told reporters that her dad usually takes his medication, and was said to be on the road to recovery.
She said that because of his medical condition, he was unable to work.
She said that except for the pools of blood in and around his cottage, no one could say for sure how her father died, as there were no marks of violence about his body.
Residents say they hope he was not murdered, and are anxiously awaiting the results of his post mortem examination, as he was not a nuisance to anyone, and usually went about his business very quietly.
