Security guard murdered at Enterprise

A father of five was brutally murdered at his place of work sometime Tuesday night, and his body was discovered early yesterday morning.
Dead is security guard Ronald Cato, of 58 Block 12, Nonpariel, East Coast Demerara.
Police said at about 06:30 hrs yesterday, Cato’s body was found at a hut at a construction site at Section ‘C’, Enterprise, also on the East Coast Demerara, where he was on duty.
His hands were tied behind his back, his feet were tied, and a piece of cloth was strung around his neck.
The body is at the Lyken Funeral Parlour awaiting a post mortem.
His wife, Jacqueline Cato, 34, told the Guyana Chronicle yesterday that she received a telephone call from a checker (her husband’s colleague) saying that he was dead.

The woman said she left home soon after she received the call and went to the site where she saw the battered body.
Mrs. Cato added that her husband’s face was badly battered.
She related that she was told that four batteries were stripped from several hymacs and draglines parked at the construction site are missing.
Mrs. Cato noted that only last week Thursday her husband secured the watchman job.
She has been married to Cato for the past 13 years, and they have five children, one boy and four girls, two of whom are toddlers.
Mrs. Cato said her husband retired from his job and was receiving pension, but had to seek a job to make both ends meet.
Reports said that three suspects are in  police custody assisting with investigations.
