Pathologist to testify today in Dairy Bar murder trial

DR. NEHAUL Singh, Government Pathologist who performed, the post mortem on the body of Security Guard Noel Jones in December 2006 is expected to testify today.
State Prosecutor, Miss Shivani Balcharan, yesterday asked presiding judge, Mr. William Ramlal for an early adjournment to today on the ground that the doctor who was expected to testify yesterday would not be available until today.   The application was granted.

The accused Seon Yaw is on trial for the alleged murder of Dairy Bar security guard Noel Jones who was shot to death on the night of December 6, 2006, after three men entered the premises and ordered employees to lie down.
While employees were carrying out the instructions from the strange men, there were explosions that sounded like gun shots. Later the security guard was found dead riddled by gun shots.
Resulting from police investigations, Seon Yaw was arrested and charged with the murder of the guard.
The accused, Seon Yaw, who is represented by Mr. Bernard De Santos, S.C has pleaded not guilty.
One of the employees upon whose statement he has been charged, testified on Monday that she believes that she had made a mistake in respect to the height of the accused.
The witness said this under cross-examination when the height of the accused was measured and found to be five feet ten and a half inches, instead of five feet three inches, as originally stated by her.
The prosecutor who had originally intended to call ten witnesses will now be calling far less.
The hearing continues today when Pathologist Nehaul Singh is expected to testify.
